“The Conscious Agora Ecovillage and Holistic Education Center is an off-grid, self-sustaining ecovillage focused on individual liberty, community, permaculture, and mindfulness, located on a beautiful piece of land in Michoacán, Mexico. The first Conscious Agora is being created by a dedicated, diverse group of change makers from the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Our mission is to advance individual, collective, and universal healing and liberation through our personal lifestyles, while supporting others in doing the same by offering permaculture courses, spiritual retreats, activist trainings, and musical gatherings presented by some of the most innovative minds in their fields.We are designing not only our own village but also a well-researched, replicable template for other dreamers and doers to use as a model. “The goal of this final part of the Manifesto of the Free Humans pertains to both of our specific preferences for a Conscious Agora existing in a stateless society. It is important to remember that we do not believe in one size fits all models, and are not attempting to state that every free, conscious agora should organize in the fashion described in the following pages. Obviously, our subjective preferences are contained in these chapters, but we see our ideal intentional community as existing among the myriad of diverse, unique communities that will exist in a truly freed marketplace of ideas. We encourage the reader to take our words and review them and compare to your own values and principles. Do our ideas measure up to your vision? If not, please take what you can learn from our efforts and adapt it to your community’s specific needs.

We believe in freedom and thus we believe in diversity. Our vision of an intentional community will be one among the many coexisting communities, microstates, communes, neighborhoods, and other yet-to-be discovered ways of self-organizing”

A long time vision for our Intentional Community … This is the beginning of a lifelong project, building community, food forests, an education center, and a home for teaching skills to others from around the world!

What Is The Conscious Agora?

The Conscious Agora is an off-grid, self-sustaining ecovillage and Holistic Education Center created by a dedicated, diverse group of change makers.

THE LAND

We have identified the property and future home of The Conscious Agora. Located in beautiful Michoacán, Mexico!

Michoacán is a mountainous region known for the culture, its vast bodies of water and rich soils. We fell in love with the wooded and open hills, the springs and fresh mountain water, the crisp air, the fruit trees already thriving on the property, the supportive neighbors, and the opportunity for growth! The land is surrounded by creeks, waterfalls, local sustainable communities, farmers, and great spots for rock climbing, hiking, biking, creating an enriching experience for adventurers.

Morelia is the nearest major city and the capital of Michoacán with an international airport for easier access to the property and surrounding attractions.

THE VISION

The Conscious Agora will be a space to grow food, harvest rainwater, steward the land, and integrate alternative energy systems with the aim to become independent from “the grid”. Additionally, TCA will be offering a wide range of in-person courses, workshops, and retreats on the land.

Organically Grown Crops – Using the principles of permaculture, we will grow and sell organically grown fruits and vegetables, as well as handmade products. We want to teach you how to do the same!
