Morphic Resonance, Gaia Hypothesis and A Conscious Universe

Here we will explore Morphic Resonance, Gaia Hypothesis and A Conscious Universe and one of my favorite go-to scientists on Morphic Resonance, Rupert Sheldrake

then Morphic Resonance can take over
and help it to be repeated over and over again.”

Global Social TransformationRupert Sheldrake is a biologist and author of more than 85 scientific papers, and was named among the top 100 Global Thought Leaders for 2013. He studied natural sciences at Cambridge University, where he was a Scholar of Clare College, took a double first class honours degree and was awarded the University Botany Prize in 1963. Dr Sheldrake then studied philosophy and the history of science at Harvard before returning to Cambridge, where he took a Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1967.

He is the author of 13 books, and in 2012 he published ‘The Science Delusion’. This book examines the ten dogmas of modern science, and shows how they can be turned into questions that open up new vistas of scientific possibility. It received the Book of the Year Award from the British Scientific and Medical Network. His recent book: ‘Ways To Go Beyond, And Why They Work’ was published in 2019, and looks at seven spiritual practices that are personally transformative and have scientifically measurable effects. Morphic Resonance After Forty Years
June 21 2021
Rupert Sheldrake
“Forty years ago, I proposed the hypothesis of morphic resonance, the idea that memory is inherent in nature. I recently gave this talk to the Institute of Noetic Science and the British Scientific and Medical Network.”

Notes from this talk.
“Morphic Resonance doesn’t explain creativity.  It only explains that once new things have happened through repetition, they become habitual.  And consciousness plays a part in creativity.  Morphic Resonance does help with understanding how things are repeated.

Compulsory Morphic Resonance doesn’t have a built in moral filter, and it means that things that become habitual and when more people do them, they become easier for others to adopt.

The fastest spreading habits currently are that of consumerism.  Western capitalist culture have now converted billions of people all over the world into consumers who look at advertising and want things they might not have otherwise wanted.  So consumerism, unfortunately has become a very fast spreading habit.

Awareness of environmental problems will be amplified and made easier for people to get through Morphic Resonance.  Meaning we’ll be a bit more responsible than we might otherwise be, not only with our actions and words, but also our thoughts and attitudes, because those are likely to spread by Morphic Resonance.  Making it easier for others to adopt the same attitude or way of thinking.”

“Look forward to a whole new world.  We need to prepare ourselves for a whole new world where the educational system needs to reflect this more holistic attitude of science.  The science funding system needs to reflect it. And of course, it needs to play, and urgently, our need to adapt to living more sustainably on the earth.

The mechanistic mechanical world view is the worst possible world view for living sustainably on earth.  A more holistic world view, in which Morphic Resonance, in part, seems to me not only true, but essential for our survival.”

Rupert Sheldrake on “How Morphic Resonance affects our memories,
families, rituals and festivals.”

Morphic Resonance is more about habits and memory.

At 56 min Rupert Sheldrake addresses how much impact the morphic field has.  He spoke of how experiments are showing that the more individuals are involved, the greater impact to the other group for learning quicker.  And also if the main group studies the topic more in depth, the learning transfer to the other group is more impactful also.

A Conscious Universe? – Dr Rupert Sheldrake
at 30 min – Is the sun conscious?  – I love this segment. The Divine Glorious Splendor of the Sun.  Rupert Sheldrake has done the yoga Sun Salutation for 40 years!  Facing the Sun, with the intention to salute the sun and ask the Sun for a blessing on our lives.

“The sciences are pointing toward a new sense of a living world. The cosmos is like a developing organism, and so is our planet, Gaia. The laws of Nature may be more like habits. Partly as a result of the ‘hard problem’ of finding space for human consciousness in the materialist worldview, there is a renewed interest in panpsychist philosophies, according to which some form of mind, experience or consciousness is associated with all self-organizing systems, including atoms, molecules and plants. Maybe the sun is conscious, and so are other stars, and entire galaxies. If so, what about the mind of the universe as a whole? Rupert Sheldrake will explore some of the implications of this idea.”
